Job Description

The American University in Dubai invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Assistant Dean of Student Services The fundamental responsibility of this position is to provide support to the educational growth, acculturation, leadership development, and engagement of AUD students within campus life. The Assistant Dean is an active leader who is committed to student advocacy by encouraging excellence and engagement outside of the classroom.    Principle Responsibilities: •               Supervises the Student Activities Coordinators. •               Develop and implement the New Student, Visiting Student and Parent Orientation programs in collaboration with the Student Activities Coordinators and campus stakeholders. •               Provide pre-departure information to visiting students and serve as the main point of contact and support throughout their time at AUD. •               Collaborate with the Student Activities Coordinators to facilitate, plan, and implement programs and excursions designed to enrich the cultural and educational experience for all students. •               Coordinate all aspects of the student leadership programs in coordination with department leaders •               Recruitment and selection process, training programs, and development workshops. •               Manage the Student Services section of AUD webpage. •               Complete assigned sections of annual reports needed for assessment and compliance purposes. •               Serve as the Acting Dean of Student Services, in the absence of the Dean. •               Supervise and support the Athletics Director, Student Activities Coordinators, Housing Manager, Personal Counselor, and Administrative Assistant. •               Participate in University Honor Council hearings as the Student Services representative. •               Chair the Conduct Council to adjudicate violations of the AUD Code of Student Conduct. •               Serve as an advocate for students and advise students on various university life issues and direct them to other staff members and/or resources when appropriate. •               Perform other duties as assigned.
