Artway Indigo - A5 Cotton Rag Paper - 100% Cotton/Handmade - 250gsm Smooth Texture - A5 (40 Sheets)

The surface of the paper has been smoothed flat having been cold pressed a number times through rollers. Please note that this process does not remove every undulation and detail from the paper (as witnessed through hot pressing) however when compared to our mid texture papers it is very much smooth in character. This reduction in surface texture lends itself to rendering more detailed and precise marks often required when producing botanic paintings and illustrations. It also aids work in pen, graphite and pencil when a more stable surface is required. Containing 100% cotton rag this paper is naturally tough providing durability and support for many different applications. Highly suitable for watercolour and other painting techniques as well as a range of dry and soft media - for oil painting, the surface will need to be prepared with gesso. Each sheet is individually handmade and features a fully deckled edge. Created entirely by local artisans in Northern India using traditional paper-making methods. Available in both A4 and A5 paper sizes (natural variations in paper size and shape will occur between sheets due to the handmade nature of the product). 100% handmade 250gsm Cotton-Rag paper with a pressed SMOOTH surface Available in A4 & A5 sizes - these dimensions are approximate due to the one-off, handmade nature of each sheet Packs vary from 30 to 40 sheets, depending on the size Each sheet of paper has its own unique character with natural deckled edges on all 4 sides Highly suitable for watercolour along with dry/soft media and other painting applications Please Note - These papers are traditionally sized with a weak gelatine solution (1%). This is an animal derivative and sadly not vegan friendly. We are however currently working on this with local craftspeople towards future resolution

• A5 COTTON RAG PAPER - Our A5 smooth rag paper packs contain 40 sheets of 100% cotton watercolour paper, each sheet individually handmade, featuring deckled edges, with natural variations in texture, size, and shape between each sheet.
• 250GSM SMOOTH PRESSED SURFACE - A heavyweight 250gsm paper with a smooth surface texture, suitable for watercolour and all painting uses, as well as all dry and soft media - for oil painting, the surface will need to be prepared with gesso.
• ARTS AND CRAFTS APPLICATIONS - Our cotton paper is also fantastic for various other arts and crafts applications such as unique wedding stationary, greeting cards and bookbinding. A wonderfully versatile and unique paper.
• COTTON RAG PAPER PACKS - Our 250gsm smooth textured cotton rag paper packs are available a variety of sizes. Packs come in A4 (30 sheets) and A5 (40 sheets).
• HANDMADE/100% RECYCLED/ACID FREE - Made by local artisans in Northern India from 100% recycled cotton, using traditional paper-making methods; the packs come wrapped in recycled kraft paper. The paper is also 100% acid free.
