In 1947, when World War II ended and America entered a turbulent era, 501® jeans also underwent significant changes. With the end of the rationing system, familiar 501® details such as watch pocket rivets returned. At the same time, in response to the changing times and the rise of the middle class, the fit became more modern and slim, evolving into a design that eliminated unnecessary details such as cinch and suspender buttons. The Arcuate stitch on the back pockets, which had been painted during the war, became a stitch, marking a clear change. Thanks to the new double-needle technology, the familiar double-arch stitch could be mass-produced in a uniform size and design, eliminating variations due to differences in the sewing skills of workers. This item uses the highest quality selvedge denim and reproduces all of these details.
